Discover the Hidden Power of Pineapple Tea 🍍

Posted by Brittney Bellamy on

Are you tired of your regular cup of tea and looking to try something different? Well, look no further because I have a delicious recipe for a refreshing and health-boosting Pineapple Tea that will leave you wanting more. Made with the skin and core of pineapple, along with some fantastic ingredients like ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and raw honey, this tea is packed with flavor and numerous health benefits.

Let's start with the ingredients. You will need the skin and core of one pineapple, 3 cinnamon sticks, a thumb-sized piece of ginger, a small piece of fresh turmeric (powdered ginger & turmeric work as well, but will settle into your final product) , a pinch of black pepper, and one teaspoon of raw honey. Now, don't throw away those pineapple scraps anymore, as they are the star of this recipe!
-
**Before you begin, I highly recommend cleaning your pineapple thoroughly. I soak mine in a bowl of 4 cups of fresh water, 2 tbsp of vinegar & 1 tbsp of baking soda, for about 15 - 20 mins. Be sure to rinse well before for cutting.**
-
First, peel the skin off the pineapple and chop it into small pieces. Cut the core into slices. Now, in a large pot, bring 6 - 8 cups of water to a boil. Add the pineapple skin, core slices, cinnamon sticks, and ginger to the boiling water. Allow it to simmer for about 20 minutes. The aroma of pineapple, cinnamon and ginger will start filling your kitchen.
-
Once the tea has simmered, add the turmeric and black pepper. These two ingredients add a wonderful depth of flavor and enhance the health benefits of the tea. Turmeric is well-known for its anti-inflammatory properties, while black pepper aids in the absorption of turmeric. Let the tea simmer for another 20 -30 minutes.
The longer it simmers, the stronger the flavor. Add more water if necessary.
Once all the ingredients are well combined, turn off the heat, and allow it to cool for a while (an half an hour or so). Remove the larger pieces of your ingredients & strain the tea into a glass (to avoid stains) container. Seal tightly & store in your refrigerator for up to 10 days. Use raw honey to sweeten your tea to taste as you serve it.
Your tea may be served heated or over ice. The vibrant yellow color and delightful aroma will make your taste buds tingle with anticipation. Take a moment to savor the aroma before taking your first sip. It truly is amazing!!

Now, let's talk about the benefits of Pineapple Tea. Apart from being a tasty alternative to traditional tea, it has its own set of health perks. Pineapple is packed with vital nutrients and antioxidants that promote healthy digestion and reduce inflammation. It is also a great source of vitamin C, which supports a strong immune system.
But that's not all! This tea is said to have cancer-fighting properties as well. Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that has been found to have anti-cancer effects. Additionally, the combination of ginger, turmeric, and black pepper amplify the tea's anti-inflammatory properties, which may help in preventing certain cancers.
So, if you're looking for a delicious and healthy beverage to switch up your routine, Pineapple Tea is the way to go. With its unique flavor and potential health benefits, it's a winning recipe. Remember, you can always adjust the ingredient quantities to suit your taste preferences. So, grab those pineapple scraps, brew a cup of this amazing tea, and enjoy the goodness it brings to your body. Cheers to your health!
